I don’t often create perfectly square cards for some reason. Our sketch challenge at Create with Connie & Mary is the perfect sketch to use to create a square card. The card for today is 5″ x 5″ and did you know you can make your own envelopes to fit this size using our Simply Scored Scoring Tool?

Here is this week’s Sketch Challenge:

My Card:

I just couldn’t bring myself to glue the “tag” in the sketch  at an angle. My stamped layered just did not look right angled that way so I glued it on straight instead. I just love the embossing created with the Delicate Designs Textured Impressions Folder. Love the scallops of the embossing:

Isn’t this stamped image adorable? I used a Blender Pen and my Ink Pads to color the image. The stamp set is called Wonderful Winterland and even comes with those little tiny snowflakes in the background:

I stamped the sentiment from Joyous Celebrations and the sentiment actually says “Sending Christmas Wishes” but I tucked the Decorative Label Punch shape under the image layer so that the word “Sending” is not showing. Pretty clever huh?

These are the Stampin’ Up! Supplies I used:

  • *Cardstock:
    Cherry Cobbler, Whisper White
  • Inks:
Baja Breeze, Raspberry Ripple. River Rock, StazOn Jet Black
  • Stamps:
    Joyous Celebrations, Winter Wonderland
  • Tools:
Big Shot Machine, Apothecary Accents Framelits Dies, Decorative Label Punch, Delicate Designs Textured Impressions Folder, Scallop Square Die, Stampin’ Dimensionals, Sponge Dauber, Small Heart Punch, Blender Pens
  • Accessories:
3/8″ Stitched Satin Ribbon, Pearl Jewels
  • DSP:Snow Festival

That is my favorite image in that set! Such a sweet card. I agree…I just couldn't "turn" my tag…had to be straight! Great job with the sketch challenge this week on Create with Connie and Mary!
