Do you love to create with a little bit of help from a sketch challenge? We have a super sketch for you to use this week at Create with Connie & Mary:

This is my card:

Can you guess what I used for my white background layer? Is it sponged, is it designer paper, is it stamped….no!

I used the Artisan Embellishment Kit. The kit contains 2 die-cuts and I wanted to preserve one of the die-cuts so that I can re-use it over and over. I turned it into a stencil! I dug out a spray bottle of “sealer” and sprayed two coats on both sides of the die-cut. Why? Because…take this card for example, I used the die-cut to spritz some color on my background. I mixed Soft Sky Ink Refill with rubbing alcohol in a Spritzer bottle and once my color with spritzed, I removed the stencil and wiped it off! Clever huh?
The Artisan Embellishment Kit also includes the pearls, Rose Red Lace and Blackberry Bliss Thin Velvet that you see on my card! Make sure you visit my teammates this week at Create with Connie & Mary.
Here are the supplies I used on today’s card:
- Stamps: Best Day Ever (Sale-A-Bration)
- Cardstock: Perfect Plum, Blackberry Bliss, Whisper White
- Inks: Soft Sky, Blackberry Bliss
- Tools: Spritzer
- Accessories: Artisan Embellishment Kit

Wow! I love your idea to seal the die cut before turning it into a stencil. It makes sense to seal it first but I would never have thought of that. Love the elegance of your card. It is so pretty.
Beautiful card! I was actually wondering how well the die cut would hold up to spraying. Thanks for the tip!
I love this die cut and am planning to do the same to mine! The results of your spritzing is lovely and you've created a beautiful card!
A little shabby chic with a touch of elegance! Love the vintage color combination – just lovely!
This is beautiful Debbie – I love this rose panel and I too have kept one as a stencil. I wish I'd read your post before I used it and sealed it first though – I did not think of that! Great tip.
Gorgeous background! Your card has such a beautiful vintage feel to it with the colors and design that you used.
Love the pretty subtle blue roses on this card combined with the bright rose ribbon. Very vintage!
What a pretty vintage card! Love the stenciled panel! What a clever way to use that die cut!
