Quite a few of my customers and blog readers wanted to know how I created the card pouch I posted HERE. I decided to post a tutorial:
Start out with a 12 x 12 piece of Designer Series Paper (DSP):
Fold in half and using a Bone Folder, run it across the fold to make it crisp. You should use your Bone Folder on all the folds listed in each step:
Open your DSP back to the orignal flat position and using a ruler, mark off two pencil marks, 5.5″ from each end, on the fold. Note: You may need to adjust to 5″ depending on the size of your envelopes. Lay your envelope in-between the pencil marks to make sure it will fit inside, if not, adjust as needed. (I made my pencil marks on the DSP side that I could easily see. The other side of the DSP’s pattern was too busy to add pencil lines to). Allow enough room for more than one card/envelope:
Turn your DSP piece 180 degrees. Grab one end and fold on the pencil mark you made:
Do the same for the other side, overlapping your DSP:
Flip your DSP over and using a ruler, mark off a 1″ pencil mark on each side of your fold line:
Fold your DSP on the pencil mark as pictured below:
Flip your DSP over and do the same thing on the other side. Your pieces should line up together. This is what the bottom should look like when you open it:
Use any punch of your liking for the top. Punch through both layers:
Add a ribbon tied in a bow or a knot:
Add your cards and envelopes to each pouch on both sides:
Completed pouch!
