It’s “Bundle Of Joy” for today’s Saturday Blog Hop at Create with Connie & Mary. I haven’t created a baby card is SOOOO long seems like. The Stampin’ Up! Occasions Catalog has the neatest stamp set that is perfect for this theme. I had so much fun that I created a baby boy AND a baby girl card:
The stamp set I used for both card is the Playful Pals stamp set and I added the sentiment from the Made With Love stamp set. First I’ll start out with the baby boy card:
I decided a frog image would work for the boy card. All of the pieces are stamped and cut with the coodinating Pyramid Pals Thinlits Dies. Isn’t he handsome?
For the baby girl card, I opted to use the owl image. She’s a cutie isn’t she?
I’ll list all of the steps to creating both cards below. I used different colors for both cards but kept with the same layout on both:
Card Recipe:
Card Base:
- Baby Boy: Pear Pizzazz Cardstock 11″ x 4-1/4″. Score in the center at 5-1/2″ and fold.
- Baby Girl: Pink Pirouette Cardstock 11″ x 4-1/4″. Score in the center at 5-1/2″ and fold.
Layer #2:
- Baby Boy: Garden Green Cardstock 4″ x 5-1/4″. Emboss with the Confetti Embossing Folder and glue to card base.
- Baby Girl: Tip Top Taupe Cardstock 4″ x 5-1/4″. Emboss with the Confetti Embossing Folder and glue to card base.
Layer #3:
- Two pieces of the Sweet Li’l Things Designer Paper: 4″ x 1/2″ and 4″ x 2″. Glue side-by-side using 2 different patterns.
Layer #4:
- Tag-Boy Card: Very Vanilla Cardstock 2-1/2″ x 3-1/2″. Use the Lots of Labels Framelits Dies to cut the top of the tag. Use a 1/4″ Handheld Circle Punch to add a hole to the top. Stamp the swirly image from the First Sight stamp set using Delightful Dijon Ink. Add a strip of Delightful Dijon 1″ Dotted Trim Ribbon through the hole and tie a piece of Linen Thread around the hole. Glue to card front at an angle using Stampin’ Dimensionals.
- Tag-Girl Card: Very Vanilla Cardstock 2-1/2″ x 3-1/2″. Use the Lots of Labels Framelits Dies to cut the top of the tag. Use a 1/4″ Handheld Circle Punch to add a hole to the top. Stamp the swirly image from the First Sight stamp set using Tip Top Taupe Ink. Add a strip of Tip Top Taupe 1″ Dotted Trim Ribbon through the hole and tie a piece of Linen Thread around the hole. Glue to card front at an angle using Stampin’ Dimensionals.
Sentiment:
- Boy Card: Stamp the sentiment using Delightful Dijon Ink on Delightful Dijon Cardstock. Cut out using the 1-1/4″ Circle Punch. Glue to the bottom corner of the tag using Stampin’ Dimensionals.
- Girl Card: Stamp the sentiment using Tangelo Twist Ink on Tangelo Twist Cardstock. Cut out using the 1-1/4″ Circle Punch. Glue to the bottom corner of the tag using Stampin’ Dimensionals.
Animal:
- Boy Card: Create the frog using Garden Green Ink on Pear Pizzazz Cardstock. Hand-cut and glue to tag using Stampin’ Dimensionals. Add eyes stamped with Garden Green Ink on Very Vanilla Cardstock and cut with the Pyramid Pals Thinlits Dies. Color the eyelids using a Pear Pizzazz Stampin’ Write Marker. Glue to the frog using Stampin’ Dimensionals.
- Girl Card: Create the owl using Blushing Bride Ink on Pink Pirouette Cardstock. Stamp the wings and cut with the Pyramid Pals Thinlits Dies. Hand-cut and glue to tag using Stampin’ Dimensionals. Add eyes stamped with Tip Top Taupe Ink on Very Vanilla Cardstock and cut with the Pyramid Pals Thinlits Dies. Color the eyelids using a Pink Pirouette Stampin’ Write Marker. Color the nose using a Tangelo Twist Stampin’ Write Marker. Glue the eyes to the owl using Stampin’ Dimensionals.
