Bride & Groom Card

July 23, 2010 1 Comment

A few months ago I had lots to do in planning and creating for my parents 50th Anniversary. I kinda got into the “wedding” mode and have created quite a few wedding cards since. This is one of them:
Isn’t this card just so cute! I’ve seen different variations and am not sure who actually started these but it was so much fun to finish one.

I started out with my background piece in “Whisper White”. I then cut my second layer using “Basic Black and I used an exacto knife and cut a slit at the top for the “tuxedo”, folded the pieces over to make them look like lapels. I followed that with my “VersaMarker” and added ink to the lapels and sprinkled “Clear Embossing Powder”. I used my “Heat Tool” to melt the powder. This gave the lapels a glossy look.

For my next step I used a “Whisper White” piece of cardstock and glued to the underside of the “Basic Black” layer and adhered. This gave the card the white shirt for the groom. Add a little bowtie and a few brads.
Now on to the bride. Using a piece of “Glossy White” cardstock, I took a pencil and lightly created the shape for the bride’s dress. Using “Paper Snips” I carefully cut the curves for the dress. I used the “Elements of Style” stamp set and “VersaMark Ink” along with “Iridescent Ice Embossing Powder” to create the design in the bride’s dress. To finish off the dress before I glued to the front of the card, I added a small piece of “Organza Ribbon” at the waist level.
The sentiment is from a new stamp set called “Occasionsal Quotes” inked in “Basic Black Ink” and shaped with the “Scallop Oval Punch”.
Wouldn’t this make a nice wedding card for just about anyone?
