Blender Pen Refill

May 24, 2010 1 Comment

This morning I am posting the directions and recipe for refilling your “Blender Pens”. One of my customers recently asked if I had any information I could pass along.

Below I have listed two different recipes. You can use either one and they both work fine.

Supplies needed:
**1 oz. glycerin
**2 oz. distilled water
**3/4 teaspoon rubbing alcohol

OR
** 2 tablespoons plus 2 teaspoons
glycerin
**5 tablespoons water
**1 teaspoon rubbing alcohol

Step 1:
Mix ingredients together.

Step 2:
Gently pull the tips out of the blender pen (both ends). You can generally pull the tips out with your fingers but if you are not having any success, use tweezers being careful not to ruin the tips.

Step 3:
Soak the tips in the fluid for a few hours. If the tips look very dry, soaking overnight will produce better results.

Step 4:
Gently push one tip back into the marker. Using an eye dropper, fill the barrell with the liquid. Replace the 2nd tip back into the marker.

TIP: Always store any type of marker in a horizontal position as this allows the liquid to continually saturate both ends of the marker. If left sitting verically, such as in a cup or pencil holder, one tip will dry out.

Preferred Price: $9.95

Blender pens combine the flexibility of watercolors with the convenience of markers. It’s easy to achieve a beautiful watercolor effect using blender pens with just about any color source. The tip cleans off with just a stroke or two on scratch paper. One pen is all you need for all of your colors!
