Bag-A-Lope Tutorial - Debbie Henderson, Stampin' Up! Demonstrator

As promised……a day late…….here is the tutorial for the cute Bag-a-lopes I made for the grandkids for Halloween. Start out with an envelope…..I used a size 4.75″ x 6″ envelope.
Seal the envelope…….

Score a 1″ score on each side of the envelope. Fold over each side and use your scoring tool to make the edges nice and crisp. I turned the envelope over and scored on the opposite side also….

With your paper snippers, snip off one short side of the envelope on the score line…….at this point, you can use the Scallop Edge punch for a fancier edge to your bag like I did on my bag-a-lopes…..

Now, open your envelope on the cut side and insert your hand. With the opposite hand, run your fingers on the bottom edges to flatten out the bottom. You will end up with flaps on each end as pictured….

Now take your scoring tool and flatten out each flap to make them both smooth….

This is what the box should look like at this point….

Using your snail adhesive, run the glue along both flaps and try to fill the flaps as much as possible with glue……

Again, using one hand on the inside, push the flaps in place and make sure they are nice and flat….

Cut a piece of cardstock 1″ x 11″. This will be used for the handle……

Using a 1/4″ punch, position your cardstock inside the bag on one side, about 1″ deep, and punch a hole where you’ll be inserting a brad to secure the handle…..
