Fresh Fruit was the theme for my April Clubs this month…Fresh Fruit meaning the stamp set with the coordinating Fruit Fruit Designer Paper. The first card I demonstrated came from an idea by our very own Stampin’ Up! CEO Sara Douglas. Sara had a live video on her facebook page showing how to do this technique on designer paper. Isn’t it lovely?

I used the Brushstrokes Background stamp and inked it up using VersaMark Ink. Stamp over the designer paper. TIP: The easiest way to achieve this is to flip the stamp right-side up, ink, and add the designer paper face down on top of the stamp image. Place a piece of scrap paper on top of the designer paper and rub over the stamp image with the palm of your hand. Remove the scrap paper and carefully lift the designer paper. Sprinkle Clear Embossing Powder and use the Heat Tool to melt the powder.
The 2nd step is to add color to the non-embossed stripes. I used a Stamping Sponge and Daffodil Delight Ink on my background where you see all of the yellow stripes:

For Card #2 we added two of the designs from the designer paper, some stamping and some fussy-cutting:

I really like this one. It’s so pretty! For added height, the large fussy-cut flowers are glued in place using Stampin’ Dimensionals:
