Here is the tutorial on a card I created from this post. This technique incorporates Impressions Folders and by altering the embossing process, only part of the cardstock is embossed. It is really cool!
Supplies needed:
1) Big Shot Die-Cut Machine 2) Multi-purpose platform (comes with your Big Shot)

**Take two pieces of cardboard (I save all mine that come with my papers). Trim them into shapes that you want to create on your cardstock. Below I’ve created two of them…one is an oval that will not emboss in the middle, the 2nd is a tree “only” that will emboss. Make sure the thickness is that of two layers of cardboard.

4) Embossing Folder. This one is called Petals-A-Plenty.
5) 1-Cutting Pad (using the set of 2 will be too thick)

Steps to embossing:
Step 2: You will need to create a shim by using two pieces of cardboard and taping them together. I made mine the same size as my cutting pads.
Step 3: Create your sandwich-Start with your multipurpose platform, add your cardboard shim on top of your multipurpose platform…

Next, layer the shape you created that you want to emboss on your cardstock…..I’m showing two different pictures…

4) Embossing Folder. This one is called Petals-A-Plenty.

Steps to embossing:
The first step is to insert your chosen color cardstock into the embossing folder.

Next, layer the shape you created that you want to emboss on your cardstock…..I’m showing two different pictures…
