A Paper Pumpkin Thing Blog Hop Blissful Blooms!

August 30, 2018 Leave a Comment

I am so glad you are here visiting me today. Today is our team August A Paper Pumpkin Thing Blog Hop. We are a group of Stampin’ Up! demonstrators who create two alternative projects for you each month. Our August kit was a gorgeous one. If you missed it I feel for you! Here are my two projects for this month:

I created a Peek-A-Boo Gate Fold Card and a coordinating Mini Box. Here are photos of different views of the card so you can see how the top and bottom panels of the card front are held together by the circle shape:

I also glued the sentiment to the circle and added a few hand-cut flowers with one flower glued in place with a Stampin’ Dimensional for height. I started by gluing a few of the Lemon Lime Twist Vellum Cardstock branches in the background and building my cluster from there:

Aren’t all of these colors fabulous together?

Card Recipe:

  • Card Base: Use a pre-printed card base that came with the kit with the cluster of flowers in the center of the card. Cut off 2-3/4″ from the front of the card. The remaining flap on the front should measure 1-1/2″ long. Using what you cut off, cut a strip to measure 1-1/2″ x 5-1/2″. Set both pieces aside.
  • Flowers: Using a 2nd card base, cut out three different flowers and two small leaves.
  • Circle: Use the card base that you cut flowers from and use the white side to cut the largest circle from the Stitched Shapes Framelits Dies. Glue two Lemon Lime Twist and one white Vellum branches to the circle. Glue two of the hand-cut flowers over the vellum branches and glue the third flower using Stampin’ Dimensionals. Set aside.
  • Sentiment: Stamp the sentiment on the pre-printed banner using Blackberry Bliss Ink. Set aside.
  • Assembly: Using the 1-1/2″ patterned strip that was cut from the card base, line it up over the card base with the small flap, so the bottom edges are even. While holding the strip over the card base, glue the circle die shape so it sits about 1/2″ from the left and glued over both flaps. This will hold the two card pieces together. Glue the sentiment to the circle by adding adhesive to the left side only.
  • Inside: Cut a piece of Blackberry Bliss Cardstock to measure 5-1/4″ x 4″. Glue to the inside of the card base.

For my Mini Box. I actually used one of the pre-printed card bases to coordinate with the card and I’ll list all of the measurements for you!

Box Recipe:
Pattern:

Box: Using a matching card base to the card and the white side placed to the left on a paper trimmer, cut off 1/4″ on the 8-1/2″ side which would be the flower pattern side.

Score as follows:

  • On the 8-1/2″ side with the flowered side to the left, score at 2″, 4″, 6″ & 8″. Note: The 4″ score line should be the pre-scored line that came with the kit.
  • On the 5-1/2″ side, score at 2″.
  • Use the pattern and Paper Snips to cut tabs on the 3 score lines and cut off  the last skinny tab.
  • Fold on all score lines and glue the small tab on the end, to the box inside to form the four sides.
  • Fold and glue all of the tabs to create the bottom of the box and glue them in place.
Sentiment:
  • Stamp the sentiment to the pre-printed banner using Blackberry Bliss Ink.
  • Glue some of the vellum branches to the back of the sentiment.
  • Cut 2 circles using a 3/4″ Circle Punch. Fold both circles in half. Add glue to one half only and glue the two circles side-by-side to the back of the sentiment in the center with the folds butted-up against each other. Add glue to the other halves and press these to the corner of the box.
Thanks so much for visiting me today. I hope you have enjoyed my Paper Pumpkin August projects. I will now direct you to my fabulous teammates so you can see more inspiration and I’ll see you in September!
